Spring at Fewston Reservoir
Spring had arrived in North Yorkshire. Green leaves were beginning to appear on the trees, the surrounding fields were full of tiny lambs, and daffodils were dotted across the landscape.
The reservoirs themselves were full of wildlife. Geese drifted across the still water, cormorants perched patiently along the shoreline, and high above, a red kite circled in the air. Things like these are one of the things I enjoy most about spending time outdoors. You never know quite what wildlife might appear along the way.
Built in the late nineteenth century, Fewston Reservoir sits alongside neighbouring Swinsty. Today, the peaceful waters and surrounding woodland provide a beautiful setting for a walk at any time of year, with each season bringing something new to discover.
