Autumn Woodland

Signs of Autumn

Autumn is probably my favourite season.

I love the changing colours of the leaves, the cooler days and darker eveningsI've put together some of my favourite autumn photographs from recent walks through the woodlands of North Yorkshire.

I was ridiculously excited when I came across the circle of toadstools in the first photograph. I've found plenty of mushrooms and fungi on woodland walks before, but they're often half-eaten by squirrels or past their best. These ones were completely untouched, growing in a near-perfect circle amongst the fallen leaves. They looked as though they'd come straight out of a fairy tale.
