Barn Owls in the Snow
I headed out to photograph the snow and found a couple of barn owls out hunting.
Everything was completely still. The fields were covered in snow, glowing blue in the fading light, when I noticed what I thought were a couple of seagulls flying low across the fields.
They moved almost silently through the snowy fields, occasionally hovering in mid-air before suddenly dropping into the snow below. I felt lucky to capture the photograph above, just as one of the owls turned and looked straight towards me.
