Tantallon Castle and Bass Rock
During our trip to North Berwick, we visited Tantallon Castle and spent some time exploring the ruins overlooking the North Sea.
Bass Rock can be seen in the distance, and from the castle, it looked as though the rock was covered in snow. It wasn't snow, of course, it was thousands of gannets nesting on the island. I loved watching them from the castle as they circled above the water before diving into the sea. Every time I looked out, there seemed to be another one flying past.

We wandered through the castle ruins, climbing the narrow staircases and looking out through the openings towards the sea. Down below, the waves were crashing against the cliffs, while the gannets continued flying around Bass Rock.
