Heather Season on the North York Moors
The moors were covered in shades of purple, stretching across the hills and surrounding landscape, with the heather flowering as far as you could see.
Roseberry Topping appeared above the sea of purple. A sheep stood amongst the heather, looking straight towards the camera as though it had decided to become part of the photograph. It's one of those landscapes that reminds me why I love photographing the changing seasons. For a few short weeks, the moors are transformed, and then gradually the purple fades as summer turns to autumn.
