Easby Abbey, also known as the abbey of St
Agatha, is a ruined abbey on the banks of the river Swale. Set in the outskirts
of Richmond, there is a short walk that you can do from Richmond Castle along
the river to the Abbey. The Abbey was founded in 1152, it is now grade 1 listed
and maintained by the English Heritage, although it is free to visit.
We made it to Richmond and had dinner in a
little café in the town centre. There was an art exhibition on in the old train
station; I don’t find art interesting and we only went in because it was
freezing, but I enjoyed looking at the different paintings of animals.
