Having been
to Saltburn a million times, I was surprised to find out that there was a viaduct
there that I’d never seen. The viaduct was originally part of
the Whitby, Redcar and Middlesbrough Union railway, which opened in 1872, with
the passenger line closing in 1958.
The viaduct boasts 11 arches and is grade
II listed, and can be found just a short walk from the Italian Gardens.
