Swainby to Faceby

I usually go to see the bluebells at the bottom of Roseberry Topping, but with the current situation, we decided it would be too busy and so gave up on it this year.  We found a walk from Swainby to Faceby, quite a short, linear walk, but as we arrived in Faceby there was a bluebell wood! Parts of the wood were off limits as they were private land but there was a public footpath which took you through the bottom of the trees to see the bluebells.

Warren Moor Mine

Since lockdown, we’ve found so many lovely places to walk locally that we otherwise might not have discovered. Our latest example being a walk through Kildale, stumbling upon an old mine built in the 19th century.

Warren Moor Mine never started production and was closed in 1874 after there was found to be no ironstone.
