Swainby to Faceby

I usually go to see the bluebells at the bottom of Roseberry Topping, but I found a walk from Swainby to Faceby, quite a short, linear walk, but as I arrived in Faceby, there was a bluebell wood! Parts of the wood were off-limits as they were private land, but there was a public footpath which took you through the bottom of the trees to see the bluebells.

Warren Moor Mine

Since lockdown, I’ve found so many lovely places to walk locally that I otherwise might not have discovered. The latest example being a walk through Kildale, stumbling upon an old mine built in the 19th century.

Warren Moor Mine never started production and was closed in 1874 after there was found to be no ironstone.
