Warren Moor Mine
Since lockdown, I've discovered so many lovely places to walk locally that I probably wouldn't have found otherwise. This walk through Kildale was one.
While wandering through the countryside, we came across the remains of Warren Moor Mine, an old 19th-century mine that never actually started production. It was closed in 1874 after it was found that there was no ironstone. I also spotted a pheasant along the way, while the fields were full of sheep.
