Dancing Stone | Danby

The Dancing Stone at Danby

We came across the ‘Dancing Stone’ while out walking through the countryside at Danby.

The walk took us through woodland and along country lanes before making the ascent up quite a steep hill. It had rained heavily in the days before our visit, and parts of the path felt like we were walking up a river.

All that was soon forgotten when we reached the top, though. The views across the patchwork of the moors were amazing, and you can walk out onto the stone itself and look out across the landscape.

There was plenty of wildlife along the way, too. We passed some very noisy geese, and I also spotted a rabbit, a red kite, and a grouse.
